Seven ways to search on

Recently we made some changes to the way searches work on, to give you greater control over where you find information. Read on to understand what each search does and where you should start a search depending on the information you wish to find.

People Finder search

People Search is our most popular search as it consolidates records from all our databases. If you are looking for someone in the UK, People Search is the best place to start.

Enter a person’s name and where possible a location and you will receive results from the publicly available version of the Electoral Roll, plus data from other sources like the phone book and company records. If you spot a premium record you’d like to explore more, you will need to purchase credits.

Electoral Roll Search

Search the publicly available version of the Electoral Roll to find someone you know. It includes the names and addresses of the majority of UK residents over the age of eighteen. Electoral Roll results are premium records, and you will need to use credits to explore these further.

Director search

Cut through all our other records and go straight to our Companies House Director Search for records of current and resigned directors and key executives. You will also find links to the company reports for any companies related to these people.

 Directory Enquiries search

Head straight to our Directory Enquiry search if you know the person’s name and location, but want to confirm their address or telephone number. People listed in the phone book will show on our Directory Enquiries results page, although ex-directory numbers will not be displayed.

Family History

Use the Birth, Marriage & Death register on to trace your family tree, find distant relations and even locate family members. We have records for Births, Marriages and Deaths for the years 1837-2005.

Explore the businesses in your area, or further afield. You can search by type of business if you’re looking to buy something or hire someone’s services. Otherwise, if you want information about a specific business, you can search for the name too.

Organised by postcode, explore the area near you, or near someone you know with our places search.

From here we hope you feel confident in searching for exactly what you need every time you visit the site.
