It’s official: 192.com is now the UK’s most popular online directory.
According to Experian Hitwise which measures the largest sample of worldwide internet users, 192.com last month had 18% more visits than Yell.com and more than six times as many visits as BT’s The Phonebook.
Hitwise monitors the use of more than a million web sites by over 8 million UK internet users. By ranking UK business directories by share of web visits, Hitwise illustrated 192.com’s continued ascendancy in the market.
The Hitwise data is substantiated by web watchers Alexa, which shows 192.com overhaul of Yell to be part of a long term trend.
Dominic Blackburn, Product Director of 192.com said:
“Our growing popularity shows that 192.com is now the ultimate destination for those searching for a business or person in the UK. With a raft of new features in the pipeline we are confident that we can open the gap further over the next year.”
192.com attracts 11 million unique users a month who visit the site to access free directory enquiries, search for families and friends and conduct ID checks.
